India is an all-year-round destination, but you’ll find differences you better consider while planning your trip depending on your itinerary.
From December to March it’s high season in India, which means lots of tourists and high prices. Temperatures are pleasant with nice, warm days and cool nights, except high-altitude areas that can be freezing.
June to November is the Monsoon season with rains persisting till September.
Low season spreads from April to June and could be a great time to visit the country if you don’t mind super hot weather.
– Dress. India is still a quite conservative country, and women should be especially careful when choosing their attire. Avoid too revealing and tight clothes. And be aware that non-revealing garments, both for men and women, are essentials if you plan to visit holy sites.
– Removing shoes. As in many SE Asia countries, India is considered polite to remove shoes before entering homes and temples.
– Plan in advance
– Find a local driver
– Scams are quite common.
